BeneHold™ Medical Tape Strips

BeneHold™ Medical Tape Strips

Avery Dennison® BeneHold™ Medical Tape Strips* are breathable perforated strips of paper tape on a release liner with user- and patient-friendly features not offered by traditional roll tape. The tape strips can be used to secure dressings, devices and tubing, and for immobilization of fingers and toes. They adhere to dry or slightly moist skin and are suited for many applications. The tape strips are also gentle and can be used on fragile skin or for repeat taping.

*Patent pending.

  • Innovative Format

    Innovative Format

The tape sheets are perforated and can be torn into halves or quarters, so clinicians use only what they need, reducing waste and costs. The sheet format can help reduce exposure to bacteria often found on roll tape by providing individualized tape for each patient and eliminating the issue of adhesive build-up on roll edges.

  • Breathable

    Breathable

Unlike plastic tapes that can cause moisture build-up, the tape strips support moisture and oxygen transmission to help maintain skin integrity and can be used for longer term wear.

  • Easy Handling

    Easy Handling

Paper tabs at each end of the tape strip offer easy, non-stick handling during application. The tabs are perforated and can be left in place after application or removed.

  • Tear-to-Size

    Tear-To-Size

Clinicians can further customize application by easily tearing the tape strip into smaller sizes as needed.

  • Multiple Sizes

    Multiple Sizes

Tape strips are perforated and available in either 0.5 in or 1 in (1.27 cm or 2.54 cm) widths with 10 half-inch and 12 one-inch strips per sheet. This enables clinicians to choose the tape size most appropriate for the procedure and patient and reduces the need to order multiple tape products.

BeneHold™ Transparent Film Dressing

BeneHold™ Transparent Film Dressing

Avery Dennison® BeneHold™ Transparent Film Dressing* can be used to cover and protect catheter sites and minor wounds, and to secure devices to the skin. As a secondary dressing, it can also be used to shield at-risk skin or eyes and first and second degree burns. The dressing is made of a thin transparent polyurethane film that acts as a waterproof barrier to external contaminants and allows oxygen and moisture vapor exchange, while the non-latex acrylic adhesive keeps the dressing in place.

*Regulatory approval pending. Anticipated commercial availability in Q3 2012.

  • Easy Application

    Easy Application

The dressing construction offers added stability and easy application. The bottom release liner is removed in one piece, while the top paper frame keeps the dressing from folding onto itself and can be easily removed after application. The paper frame features handling tabs, which assist during application.

  • Comfortable & Transparent

    Comfortable & Transparent

Thin polyurethane film conforms to the patient without inhibiting movement or putting mechanical stress on the skin and it is soft to the touch. Rounded edges minimize edge curl and premature lifting of the dressing from the skin. The dressing’s transparent acrylic adhesive also provides a clear view of catheter and surgical sites, and minor wounds.

  • Breathable

    Breathable

The polyurethane film’s high breathability actively manages fluid build-up under the dressing, minimizing skin maceration. The film blocks external fluids from entering, but allows vapors and gases in and out, maintaining a moist environment for wound healing.

  • Multiple Sizes

    Multiple Sizes

Available in multiple sizes so clinicians can choose the best dressing for the patient and procedure, enhancing dressing performance, securement and patient comfort.

  • Sterilized

BeneHold™ Tube Fixation Device

BeneHold™ Medical Tape Strips

Avery Dennison® BeneHold™ Tube Fixation Device* allows universal fixation of a wide range of tubes, lines, drains, catheters and cords. The hook and loop closure system can accommodate lines of varying sizes in one device. Clinicians can choose from two sizes and opt for temporary fixation of tubing to allow movement and repositioning or permanent fixation using the built-in adhesive zone. The skin-friendly hydrocolloid enhances patient comfort and helps minimize skin breakdown.

*Regulatory approval pending. Anticipated commercial availability in Q1 2012.

  • Simple & Universal Tube Securement

    Simple & Universal Tube Securement

The simple bandage design is easily applied to the patient's skin and can be placed anywhere upon the skin surface. The hook and loop closure system is easy to operate with gloved hands and can organize tubing of various sizes within one device.

  • Easy Tube Access

    Easy Tube Access

Hook and loop access to tubing and cords allows easy repositioning without removing tape or adhesives. The closure system can be opened and closed repeatedly without damage to the device or the patient's skin, enabling long-term wear and reducing the need for repeat taping.

  • Permanent & Temporary Fixation

    Permanent & Temporary Fixation

Tubing can be permanently secured by exposing the adhesive zone in the fixation area or the adhesive zone can remain covered for temporary securement to allow tube movement. The adhesive used in the fixation area is formulated to prevent residue build-up on tubing.

  • Skin-Friendly

    Skin-Friendly

The gentle, yet strong adhesion of the hydrocolloid is ideal for fragile skin, helps reduce skin maceration and irritation, and provides low-trauma release. The hydrocolloid is highly conformable and acts as a cushion against the skin.

  • Comfortable

    Comfortable

The device uses a highly flexible hydrocolloid in combination with soft nonwoven materials to reduce skin irritation. The product design allows fixation of tubing to the body without straps or clips and lifts lines off of the skin, eliminating pinching or pressure points. The hook and loop closure system supports repositioning of tubing without removal and reapplication.

  • Multiple Sizes

    Sterilized

The device is individually packaged and gamma sterilized for use in sterile environments and surgical fields.
